herbs

i am so extremely excited about growing my own herbs this summer. i plan on growing peppermint, lavender, borage, calendula, parsley, basil, saffron and a few others. although i've tried several times to go full on vegan, but it's hard when you're in school and in sports and you're so tired because the easiest meal becomes one that either my mom already makes or processed foods which i hate to say are so good but terribly bad for me! but i know that when summer comes along and i'm out of school and sports, being a vegan will be a lot easier.. especially when i can walk out into my backyard and pick my lunch.
i've also decided that this summer i want to adopt an animal from an animal shelter. i was reading my vegetarian magazine that i got in the mail the other day and it said that you should adopt animals from shelters who are more in need of a home. i always knew i wanted to adopt from a shelter but reading that small paragraph about doing so made me decide that this summer i am going to go through with it. i also read that this past year from me not eating any meat, i saved 95 animals! my mom has also decided that she is going to get me the book called 95 which is about being vegan and saving all those animals, plus where other animals go after being saved from the meat industry. all who are not vegan should really consider trying it, it's a beautiful thing and an amazing way to live!
